2021 Jeep 4Xe: eligible for the $8,000 green rebate
Posted on December 23, 2020
We look forward to it. Just like all Jeep enthusiasts. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the first partially electric vehicle in the lineup, will soon be available at Longue Pointe Chrysler Jeep and across the country. But the good news is that its ecological qualities are sufficient for the Quebec government to make it eligible for $8,000 in government financial assistance!
Jeep has announced the price of its Wrangler 4xe 2021 plug-in hybrid. It will start at $54,995 for the Sahara version and $59,995 for the Rubicon. It will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021.
Thanks to its plug-in capacity and the size of its integrated 17 kWh battery (the government standard is 16 kWh), both models will be eligible for an $8,000 "green" rebate in Quebec. This is the most considerable financial incentive in the country. British Columbia also offers a rebate, but only $1500 and only on the Sahara version.
Two engines
Here, the story is different. Both models use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with integrated motor-generator, an eight-speed automatic transmission with integrated motor-generator and their on-board battery.
The combined system produces 375 horsepower and 470 lb. ft. of torque, making it the most powerful Jeep Wrangler in history. Best of all, when plugged in and charged, it can travel approximately 40 kilometres on electricity alone. If the battery is completely drained, however, you're not in trouble. The Wrangler 4xe works like a conventional hybrid, running on gasoline, electricity, a combination of both as needed, and recharges with regenerative braking.
Features of the Sahara 4xe include 20-inch wheels, leather-trimmed seats, a body-coloured hardtop and a Selec-Trac 2.72:1 all-wheel-drive system. The Rubicon, for its part, adds a Rock-Trac 4:1 heavy-duty all-wheel-drive system. All details are available at your Chrysler Jeep Longue Pointe dealer.
